SoenEA

SoenEA was originally the merging of aweb application toolset that was developed by Stuart Thiel while working on Concordia University's Inventory system and the teaching library created by Patrice Chalin (chalin@dsrg.org) out of Concordia University. It is now unrecognizable from either original incarnation and is immensely more powerful and useful. It is maintained and growing, but the full basic framework is in place to allow the rapid development of Web Enterprise Applications.

This framework has evolved with Stuart Thiel's understanding of Software Engineering in general, and web application development in particular. SoenEA has been developed over nearly a decade, starting in Stuart's undergraduate years at Concordia and carrying through the completetion of his Masters thesis in February of 2010 (based loosely on the subject embodied by the framework, and the best manual to SoenEA and the theory behind it thusfar). It is used in around two dozen applications that Stuart has been involved with. Most of these are commercial applications, although a few are open source projects, and some are projects developed in Stuart's leisure time.

SoenEA has been used in both Web Enterprise Applications (WEAs) and standalone desktop applications, backed by MySQL databases and static XML files. It is intended to be extensible to support any type of DataSource you may be using.

This project is open sourced under GPL. Other arrangements can be made through Stuart Thiel. Stuart Thiel retains the rights to adjust this license insofar as it ensures that anyone may use this software freely so long as they make anything they use this software with available freely under GPL, unless otherwise agreed upon with him privately.

More details can be found at The SoenEA TRAC page.
